Before Christian Aid began helping Christ Alive Tanzania
in 1996, the ministry had no outside financial support. About half of
the 240 gospel workers now receive assistance to help them continue
their work among more than a dozen people groups. From the capital city
of Dar Es Salaam to the borders of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi,
they are planting churches and ministering to orphans and widows.
Open-air meetings draw large crowds and yield a great spiritual harvest
of new converts—like this woman who publicly professed her faith in
Christ at a baptism service. Motorcycles and bicycles are needed for
travel to remote villages to reach more people with the gospel.
